Horror can happen to anyone, no matter how famous or mundane. Distant Stars is an 8-page zine that introduces two new Mothership 1E-compatible classes representing familiar economic horror archetypes from the science fiction of today and yesterday. Their world of dazzling products and services provides A+ brand synergy with any deep space, cyberpunk, or otherwise dystopian universe of terminal side gigs, predatory corporate sponsorship, and the lure of fame's distant star.
The Celebrity is inspired by The Running Man, Squid Game, and all of your favorite streamers and brands. They've got a modicum of fame, a terrible audience, and the taste for more.
The Fool is a pleasant-seeming sort with skills unrecognized by mainstream spacefaring society. Play average, everyday sorts reminiscent of TV's Philip J. Fry, Stanley Tweedle, Dave Lister, and Arthur Dent as they face the worst days of their lives.
